Kent State University College of Business Administration

  • Kent State University Design Competition

    In response to Kent State's call for designs, The Collaborative teamed with Akron-based Signet Real Estate Group as developer, with Minneapolis-based Perkins+Will and Turner / Ozanne of Cleveland as contractor.

    Four teams submitted designs and financing packages which are currently under review.

  • New College of Business Administration

    Purpose: Collocate all college functions into one interactive, engaging, flexible and social building

    Greater Purpose: Express the socio-economic value of business, education and research as transformational forces for good through: outstanding academic experience; community vitality, social equity & cohesion and lifelong affinity.

  • Design Drivers

    EXTEND iconic Front Campus and create new North Gateway.

    ENGAGE students, faculty and visitors in an interactive town-to-gown connection.

    ENVISION change through a flexible, adaptable building that transforms over time.

    ELEVATE well-being through a healthy, resilient and sustainable environment.

    ENGENDER a ‘Student First’ high-quality educational journey.

  • New Educational Journey

    The design includes a distinctive atrium/lobby with a collaborative "teaching" stair. The focal point "Center of Centers" is a co-located Analytics Lab, Entrepreneurship Lab/Center, Sales Lab/Center, Global Management Center and future Center. The Business Boulevard will provide 1250+ study seats for social learning, part of the overall goal to provide a seat for all 3000+ COBA students at the same time.
