Toledo, Ohio  HNTB, a nationally-known sports architecture firm, and The Collaborative designed this 250,000 SF Multi-Purpose Arena for the Lucas County Commissioners. The Huntington Center is home to the Toledo Walleye Hockey team and host to headlining acts from around the world.

Working as design partners, The Collaborative and HNTB collaborated on the design of the exterior skin of the new Arena.  HNTB designed the interior, including the performance area and support functions. The Collaborative coordinated the overall sustainable design for the facility.

As a teaching tool for the community, each sustainable initiative is represented visually.  For example, the light shelves allow the interior spaces to take advantage of natural lighting, while minimizing glare.  The Rain Wall water feature represents the underground stormwater detention and irrigation system.

The Huntington Center is LEED Gold Certified.
