Piqua, Ohio This new 35,600 SF iconic entry building on the campus of Edison State Community College reaches out to serve the greater College community with its expanded Center for Health Science. The new facility also includes a state-of-the-art learning center and library to better serve students.
The Regional Center of Excellence is LEED Certified. Elements of the sustainable design include a pond that can retain and treat surface runoff water, minimal parking expansion and restored green spaces, minimal artificial light, plumbing and irrigation systems that conserve water, a long south-facing area of glass that is sheltered by overhangs to utilize natural light and heat, mechanical systems with greater than code-minimum required efficiencies, use of ozone-friendly refrigerants, and use of building materials with recycled content.
Modifications to the existing campus buildings that are impacted by the Regional Center of Excellence were also completed.
